The name Repetit comes from the crasis of the Latin word “repetita (to repeat)” and the French word “petit” (small); underscoring the essence of a project that found its signature in the repetition of a minimal element.
Repetit reinterprets the mosaic theme by investigating the shape of the tile, which now becomes a small oval grain, and the revolution of the classic dimensional relationships between ceramic element and joint.
The three-dimensionality of the cladding takes on different connotations depending on the viewing distance:
from a higher distance, the surface seems to be animated by a textile-inspired warp, uninterrupted and with a constant rhythm; closely, the discovery of the reliefs and the unexpected shape of the tiles invite a tactile, more material and caressing experience of the product.
Repetit defines a new dialogue between stoneware and grout: the latter is now a co-protagonist of the surface on a par with ceramics, allowing for striking color blends for more classic, tone-on-tone surfaces or bolder combinations.
